Capstone Objectives

It is not uncommon to loose perspective in this type of courses. Therefore I would like to remind you of the course's objectives.

  • Understand all aspects related to the solution of a problem in Computer Engineering
  • Manage all aspects related to the solution of a problem in Computer Engineering
  • Demonstrate the knowledge acquired in previous courses.
  • Demonstrate his/her capability to solve a real engineering problem.

There's also the various criteria particular to each part of the evaluation strategy of the course. I have to know what's happening in our project. I also have to know what's not happening and why. This is an engineering design course. I must keep in mind that, though the project might not work, I must go through the whole experience of design.

I noticed many of the groups engaging in unhealthy practices including loosing sleep and distorting food habits. It shouldn't have come to that. We had time to do everything. Maybe we should comment on this practices as part of the moral and social aspects of our projects.

Finally, I understand college projects and industry projects are quite different. There's still a lot to learn. I'll make the best of this and try to meet all the objectives of the course. I'll get through Capstone.

I was wrong. Just make sure the project works, understand it and document it. No need to worry about the rest. Do this and you'll pass.
